I hope any member of Deputy Sheriff Whiteman's family would visit this site. His bravery and that of other lawman helped to tame the West. For this we are all grateful. In all the time since he past, we have not forgotten. May God continue to watch over his family. Rest in Peace.

The sacrifice of all police officers was brought home to me like a lance in the heart in 2009, as Washington state grieved and grieves for our fallen heroes. Deputy Whiteman, you are not, and will never be forgotten.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 118th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.

Rest In Peace.

REST IN PEACE BROTHER YOU ARE NOT FORGOTTEN

DEPUTY SUTHERLAND
R.R.S.O.

October 25, 2005

I stop by this website often after the death of two dear friends with the NCSHP (Troopers Calvin Taylor E.O.W. October 3, 2001 and Anthony Cogdill E.O.W. May 30, 2003). Unfortunately, I had to add the name of another friend recently. Deputy Jeffery Hewitt, Buncombe County (NC) Sheriff’s Department, E.O.W. April 4, 2004.

I want to honor all of those who gave their life in the line of duty. Although your death was many many years ago, you are still a hero.

God Bless the men and women who continue to serve their communities in our great Nation.

...Gone, but never Forgotten....
