It has been Fifty years since your heroic sacrifice but we who came later will honor you and never forget what you did.
On that day you were in the station and did not have to respond to the incident. You did however, because you were a good cop and good supervisor. That day your brother officers did everything they could to save you.
You were doing your duty and you made the ultimate sacrifice for all of us. You are truly a hero.
Your actions are within the highest standards of the Cincinnati Police Department. Your service, and your sacrifice, shall not go unmarked.
We will always be grateful and proud of you. May you rest in eternal peace.

To fully appreciate the heroes of the present, we must recognize our heroes of the past. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 46th anniversary year of your death. I am priviliged to be among the first to leave a tribute to you. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace.
