My heart is still broken even though I only knew you from a hello or two in the neighborhood where I lived that you patrolled. This happened right outside my bedroom window and its a night I'll never forget. Through the Mercy of God, may you rest in peace Officer Vitale. Thank you for your service and heroism.

I only worked a couple of tours with Gabe in the 109 precint, but I enjoyed working with him. I clearly remember that Gabe had a lot of energy. At the end of our 4x12 tours he seemed as if he could do another eight hours and he was much older than me. Rest in peace Gabe.

It was my honor to research newspapers, magazines, online & books to find your ID CARD Photo. I found this photo in a Online Article about your heroic sacrifice. I felt it was necessary to have a photo on this website so that your family & friends can remember you. Rest Easy Hero! Always Remembered!
