Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Police Officer Robert Venable

Sept. 22. 2003

Remembering you on the anniversary of your death. May God comfort
all those who are still grieving your passing. Life is difficult at times
and the Lord Jesus wants to help carry our burdens. He gives us many
beautiful promises in His Word to help us through our valleys. I pray you
will feel His presence and know His peace. God bless!

Bobby... It's been over 15 years since that terrible night. I remember it as if it was yesterday. I miss your sense of humor and how you always were smiling. Even though we were in diferent units we somehow always seemed to end up at the same place. Euclid Ave is etched in my mind, because that is where I lost a friend. I still remember giving you my reciept for an approved day off (TP30) so you could write down the particulars of the arrest and I told you that if I got into trouble for taking the day off, I was going to come after you. Who knew you would be shot 20 minutes later for no other reason than that you were a police officer. RIP

Your memory will always be carried on with the dignity and respect for their is no greater love than to sacrifice one's life for your fellow brothers and sisters. The members of the NYC Transit Police Memorial Lodge #317 are proud and honored to call you one of our own.
