I have no memory, nor will ever have memories of my great grand-father, he was killed long before I was born. I only have memories of stories my mother told me of her grand-father. It's sad because he was gone before she was born to, he was only 37 years old. I know she was proud of both her grand-father and father, who also served as Chief some years later. Thanks to the hard work and self-sacrificing devotion of some, including my uncle also an officer, my great grand-father will always be remembered on a memorial out-side the Police Dept. in Leonia New Jersey. Please, take the time and pay tribute to all those who have served and paid the ultimate. "Their Lives"

In Loving Memory, of my mother, Marjorie Van Zilen-Thaller
