Reflections for Probationary Patrolman David Turman
David Bruce Turman was the husband of my cousin, Olivia Ann Jones Turman.
Sadly, I never had the opportunity to meet either one of them. Rest In Peace, Family! You are remembered for your Valor in the line of duty.

Patrolman Turman, today marks the 47th anniversary of your death. You never had a chance to shine and in the very brief time you did the job, you seem to have done it well.
The fate of the officer who shot you is not posted here. I pray he came to grips with his tragic mistake. A horrible situation to say the least. We all have to face the fact that, 'there but for the grace of God, go I'. We can say what we want, but when push comes to shove, how will we act at every single incident we encounter. Hopefully better than in this one. My heart goes out to the officer in question.
My prayers are with YOUR family today Patrolman Turman, how they must miss you even after all these years, but no doubt, they feel your presence every day in some way or another.
God Bless and may you continue a peaceful rest, Brother.

To fully appreciate the heroes of the present, we must recognize our heroes of the past. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 45th anniversary year of your death. I am privileged to leave a tribute to you. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service.
My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace.
