Sgt Ham Trenary, not an October goes by that I don't think of you. How you let this 13 year old kid set in your car to get warm while I was deliverying News Papers. I keep hoping that they will find the guy who did this before he dies. I was sure the guy who I ran into while I was stationed at Fort Huchuca AZ back in 1963/64. Was the guy, The VA State police investigator and Officer Myers sure thought so too. You were one of my first adult friends, and I will never forget your kindness.

To fully appreciate the heroes of the present, we must recognize our heroes of the past. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 54th anniversary year of your death. I am privileged to leave a tribute to you. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service.

My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

We have continued to honor Sgt. Trenary's memory through the years, and will never give up on bringing his killer to justice. Each day all of us in the Commonwealth's Attorney's Office and local law enforcement remember the ultimate sacrifice that Sgt. ON THE LAND OR THE DEEP,
SAFE IN SLEEP.
