Reflections for Patrolman Eino E. Toivola

Thank you to everyone who has remembered my grandfather Eino Toivola's sacrifice to protect another.

His heart for his family and community was like no other.
His love for his family and community is a rarity in these days and times.
He not only choose to love his children but he chose to also love a child that was not of his own, my mom, as he loved & adopted her as his own.

I believe he and many like him who have gone before and after him are of brave men, good father's, strong grandfather's, mentor's and examples that our children and children's children should learn to follow.

He was fearlessness to enter a home of domestic violence with courage to protect and serve without stopping to think about himself.
He was courageous, selfless and brave.
He inspires me everyday to walk in faith and not fear, to live courageously and boldly for my family and community.
To be the best representation of God 1st and my him 2nd.
For no man has courage on his own, no man can walk in faith and not fear on his own.
So I know w/o a doubt that God was with him and in him and because of that I have the peace and assurance that one day I Will Finally Get To Meet Him.
Thank you again and May God go before each of you each and everyday that you protect and serve.

I am the granddaughter of Eino Toivola. I just found this site and read all the beautiful tributes to my grandfather and want to Thank Everyone. Even though I never got to meet him, the stories I have been told by many in our community has allowed me to know how great a man he was. Because of him I have become an advocate Against Domestic Violence against women. I have nothing of my grandfather's, no memorabilia or photo's, if anyone has something extra they would be willing to allow me to copy I would appreciate it greatly. You can email me at [email protected]. May God keep all of our troops and officer's safe and out of harms way.

To fully appreciate the heroes of the present, we must recognize our heroes of the past. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 56th anniversary year of your death. I am privileged to leave a tribute to you. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service.

My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace.

Thank you, Patrolman Toivola, for standing so bravely between those you served and the evil that was ever threatening. It is your life, not your death, that makes you a hero. We will never forget you.
