A.J.was my great-grandfather. I spoke to my grandmother about her dad many times. She was only 11 years old when he and Will were murdered but she remembered that day vividly. Even in her 80's, she would tear up talking about him. She said they brought him and Will home in the back of a horse drawn cart. A.J. had a single gun shot to the side of his nose.

I have a picture of A.J. and his siblings at their mother's funeral. He resembles the actor James Wood. I would have loved to have known him but he died 34 years before I was born. Rest in peace great-grandfather.

Magistrate Thornsberry,
On today, the 80th anniversary of your death I would just like to say thank you to you and your cousin for your service and sacrifice. It sickens that your murderer only served two years for your murder. And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.
