Game Protector Taylor,
On today, the 110th anniversary of your death I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for the citizens of the state of New York.

I receive the Samuel S. Taylor award yesterday October 18th, 2023 from my agency NYS Dept of Environmental Conservation. I learned about Game Protector Taylor’s death in our academy and always thought of him with great reverence. Now, having received the award in his memory 10 years to the day after my academy graduation, at nearly the same age, while being assigned the area in which he was patrolling when killed, I’m truly honored and will forever be grateful for his sacrifice and others like him.

Being a NYS EnCon Officer has given me opportunities I never could’ve dreamed of and memories I’ll never forget. No matter how much changes in the world over time, we’re still just Game Protectors working our hardest to protect the natural resources, environment and people of the State of New York. It will forever be the greatest job on the planet.

Thank you Samuel S. Taylor for your sacrifice and your desire to fight to protect what we’re able to enjoy today.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 98th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.

Rest In Peace.

Game Protector Taylor, today marks the 96th anniversary of your murder. Though the memorial page does not state what became of your killers, we can only hope that they faced true justice, if not in this world, then in the next.

God Bless and may you continue to Rest in Peace, Brother.
