Your heroism and service is honored today, the 43rd anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.

Rest In Peace.

My father-in-law was on the scene that tragic day. He was the one who climbed the stairs during the seige and had to determine you two were gone. He has told the story a few times and has never forgotten. During his 40 years on the job he stated that day was one of his worst.

We'll remember you today in a prayer and I shall go by the location and remember your contribution.

Detective, you would be so proud of all that your family has done to ensure that the citizens of this city remember you and the hundreds of other Chicago Police Officers killed protecting us. Their simple idea of planting a tree for each officer killed in Chicago has turned into one of the country's most beautiful (and expensive) police memorials. The ribbon cutting is in just a few weeks. Hope you will look down from you place in heaven to see us all there to honor you and your fallen brothers and sisters .
