Deputy Sherriff Strong,
I am the brother of the man (men) you and your partner Sgt.
Gallagher tried to rescue in the desert. This winter I am locating the area of rescue to dedicate a memorial to the men who tried and died. Many lives were impacted and lessons learned from this tragedy. I just want to thank you for being a hero.

To fully appreciate the heroes of the present, we must recognize our heroes of the past. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 62nd anniversary year of your death. I am priviliged to be among the first to leave a tribute to you. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace.

I was only 14 months old when my father was called. But let everyone know that he loved being a police officer. All of my life I have thought of my father as a Hero, He eneded up giving his life for others. To the other officers who read this, his death did not have to happen. Do what you need to do to protect yourself from the weather as well as the bad guys.
