Although you nver met him, my best friends father served and retired from Davenport PD. They have never forgot you and either will I. You are a true Hero Sir and RIP. Yes your Killer was pardoned but that doesn't mean that he won't be punished one day. I pray and have faith with god.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 95th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never dimishes respect, and your memory will always be honored and revered.

I was angered when I read your killer was pardoned after only serving four years. You share your eow date with another officer whose killer was paroled after only five years. Between you two, you left thirteen children. Both your families were denied justice and the pardons were disgraceful.

Rest In Peace

Patrolman Speth,
On today, the 92nd anniversary of your death I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for the citizens of Davenport. And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy. First a 17 year sentence and then being pardoned after only serving four years? I sure don't call that justice.
