THANK YOU FOR REMINDING PEOPLE OF ALL THE SACRIFICES THAT HAVE BEEN MADE BY PO SLUDGE AND THE OTHER MEMBERS OF THE NYPD. THE SACRIFICES THAT POLICE OFFICERS LIKE OFFICER SLUDGE HAVE MADE PROVE THAT POLICE OFFICERS ARE SUPERIOR TO- AND MORE IMPORTANT- THAN ANYONE ELSE.

While so much time has passed since the Sledge family’s sacrifice for the City of New York, none of it is lost upon the members of the 69 Precinct and the NYPD. We will always remember our brothers and sisters in blue who have left us. God bless the Sledge family.

Your family and friends and strangers fought for justice for you. The criminal who took your life will remain in prison for another two years because parole was denied. We miss and think of you everyday. You live in our hearts. You will never be forgotten. We will continue to fight for justice.

The 1st thing that struck me in reading this incident resulting in Officer Sledge death is the fact the perp has been alive 30 yrs more then the officer. Imagine the stress and strain this has had on friends and family of officer Sledge every day and particularly at these repeated parole hearings. When a police officer is dragged to his death after being shot and possibly still alive this case should have closed by the perps death 30 yrs ago and allowed the family some kind of closure.

As a 17 year old son of a NYPD Officer I was devasted. My friends and I ran down the blocks from East 51 street, not realizing what the commotion was about. Will never ever forget seeing our Cities hero laying motionless where a murdering Maggots car had left him. The Murderer ran into a house adjacent to the corner and took a women hostage. May the POS continue to rot in the cell and eventually burn in Hell. Approximately 8 months later less than a half a mile away Officer Hyman was MURDERED as he exited his house to stop murdering scum from stealing a car. These officers love of family, friends, and Nation continues to be remembered by the lives they touched, people they saved and helped along with making a positive difference each and every day. Three years later I joined the NYPD. A year later my best friend followed in his dad and uncles footsteps and joined and we eventually became partners. Both my sons joined the ranks and his son joined as a officer in another State. Cop Killers I pray Remain in jail and Burn in external Hell. Always God Bless their families, may thier loved ones know these heroes will never forgotten.
