I remember my dad talking about Deputy Slape; they were deputies together. My father spoke highly of his friend "Pat". I was very young but my father said we would go on rides with them both. Pat you were a great influence in my fathers life, thank you and God bless.

I send this reflection with my highest respect Deputy Slape. I kiss my kids good night, every night before I leave out on patrol knowing that I may never see them again. I read your story and your daughter's reflection and it just reminded me of that.
You served El Paso County well and for that I respect you.
Sincerely,
A fellow Texas Peace Officer.

Was a long time ago Dad - and we did not have much time together , But I still have some memories of stuff we did together and often think about what life may have been like if we had longer. Mom did good raising us kids and I have had a good life so far - I just wanted to say I miss you and will see you in just a little while. Love , Bobby Charles Slape I

Deputy Sheriff Slape,
On today, the 38th anniversary of your death, I would like to say thank you for your service to the citizens of El Paso County-that a very desolate area that you patrolled. I am a Border Patrol Agent stationed here in El Paso, and every time we come into contact with officers of the EPSO, we are always treated good.

Daddy,
One of my last memories of you is of you in your uniform, leaving for work the night before you died. I was proud of you then, I'm proud of you now.
I miss you,
