Reflections for Trooper Glen A. Skalman
Trooper Skalman your sacrifice will never be forgotten. It has been an amazing honor to get to know and work side by side with your daughter for a number of years with Minnesota LEMA Honor Guard and Board. She is now a dear friend. God bless.

I remember 1963 and 1964 and the summers when Glenn used to chase me around his their house, Of course he always let me win and I got to sit in his patrol car and got a candy for my victory. Tough years growing up, lost a President and a fantastic neighbor.

Trooper Skalman has been a part of my mindset for as long as I can remember. Mama always reminded us kids to "kiss Daddy good-by" when he signed on for his shift - we always knew, in the far reaches of our minds it was a possibility he would not come home, never really thinking such a thing could happen to us. But life throws us curve balls and the connection is there whether or not we've met. I remember your Dad. Deborah Ziesmer Nied - daughter of Trooper Don Ziesmer

It has come to my attention that you were a Johnson High school graduate. I also noticed that you are not in the JHS Hall of Fame. I will try to do everything to change that, you have earned your mark and you gave all for the citizens of Minnesota. SP 326 10-7

Noticed your memorial sign on US 61.
Thanks to all State Troopers, Sheriff and local Police for the invaluable service you provide. Especially you and your family Mr. Skalman. You are in my thoughts each time I pass that memorial.

You were honored on this website tonite. Time has not diminished your
service or sacrifice. So sad you left 3 little ones to be raised by your wife.
I hope she was able to find happiness once her heart mended.
