Thanksgiving day, Officer Sintic. Thank you for your service to the citizens of the great state of California. I cannot find it now, but I recall reading a post on this site from several years ago. She commented "I know you saved us" in reference to the 211 silent alarm that day in 1976.

Hi George ... We are well here. The hills surrounding the cemetery in Chatsworth will soon take on a green tone from the recent rains. The ancient oak trees throughout the park grounds continue to flourish as an everlasting tribute to law enforcement.

Beloved Nick and Linda, now I know you are in Heaven together. Your Love for each other was like no other, a one that you went through many challenges. Oh how I still miss seeing the two of you, I was the lucky one
too know you both, just wish you would have known that I feel this way years later, now that I am 72 years old.

Hi Tim, been trying to get to Calif. but there is always a hold up. Thanks again for the comments and flowers for Nick. I wrote a book about our family that I think you may find interesting. It's called Escape from Bad Schachen and available on Amazon. It is a true story about our father who was a Military Attache attached to the Royal Yugoslav Air force and stationed in Berlin when Germany attacked Yugoslavia on April 6th 1941. Nick is mentioned in it also. Tanks again Tim and hope to see you .

Thinking about you always with the Antelope Valley losing Sgt Owen this week brings back the heartbreaking day we lost you our lives changed forever but i try to think of all the best memories we had. George: I visited the cemetery yesterday, the 27th of August. My C.H.P. brother-in-law would have been 72. Close by at Nick's site I left a sprig of honeysuckle flower from just outside the premises. Some buds were open, others still closed. I think of the still closed flowers as optimism and opportunity for a more peaceful world. Reading all the comments about Nick I am certain he would have contributed many more years towards that future. As I was leaving L.A.P.D.'s helicopter flew over. Coincidence, or maybe something more ?

For George Sintic, Nick's younger brother: Thanks for your April comments. I still visit the cemetery often, and can tell you all of the plaques and surrounding vegetation near the fallen peace officers are well maintained. I think many people continue to visit those sites. If you see the white 22' RV parked just outside the cemetery, that is mine.

It is hard for me to believe that it has been 40 yrs since your death. You died on my birthday and that is always a sad memory for me. We worked together at Devonshire Div. and I remember attending your funeral at Oakwood Cemetary. Little did I know then, that just 4 months later I would be attending my husband Jeff's funeral at exactly the same place. You both are near each other, and although you never met ... you are brothers.

Wayne... thank you for expression on ODMP. It is good that you said what was on your mind. I hope you get a feedback. As for me, I can tell you I visit the cemetery in Chatsworth often, for it is there that my brother-in-law of the California Highway Patrol rests very close to Officer Sintic. There are several other LAPD sites close by. I grew up in the Valley (circa 1957) and often pass the location where he was shot. When I visit the cemetery I say a special remembrance for all the officers that rest there. Officer Sintic contributed greatly towards the benefit of the City of Los Angeles.

Hi Nicole, I was just a kid when I lived next door to your mother and father in Simi Valley. Your mother and my mother were close and your mother treated me like family. I wanted nothing more as a kid than to be a police officer. I would wait for your father to come home everyday and I would run up to him as soon as he pulled in the drive way and ask him to tell me the stories from his day he was never one time to tiered or busy to give me the run down of his day. He also taught me all the codes and made me work out so I would be in shape when I went to the academy even though I was only 8 years old at the time. Your father was a major influence to me and a real father figure in my life at the time. I have tried to find you from time to time I feel that I owe to your father and mother to make sure you are ok if can help it. We moved to Las Vegas and lost contact with your mother but I have never stopped thinking of her and your father I speak of him often. Please feel free to call me you or your brother please call me I hope you are well I would love to speak to you or be there for you guys if need be. I don't know if you will read this I can only hope. Please feel free to call me. God bless you all

Dear Children of Nick and Linda,

Your parents have never left my mind, even before the tragic loss of your father. Before I meet him Linda would show the letters she got from Saudia Arabia, he got stationed there in the Air Force, with S.A.C.. If my memory is correct, now that I am 70, this is something that I thought was so important about your Dad. Your Mother said that your father, his brother, and himself escapted Communist Yugoslavia, is my memory correct?
His commitment to the United States and joining the LAPD, to Protect us we should all be "Thankful" for. How I pray that people could really open their eyes and see that Police and Firemen put their lives on the line for us. People have got to stop using them for Target Practice.
One last thing, one I saw on TV that your father was killed, I found out were your Mother was and went to her; even though we had not seen each other for years, I felt compled to. We sat on the floor, and just cried and cried. Your parents had the most wonderful love for each other than anyone I have ever known. Sincerely, Carol Marie Koceja

George, I did not know Officer Sintic, but I want you to know I visit the Chatsworth cemetery on occasion to pay my respects to my brother-in-law. He was a CHP officer who died on the job in 1975. They rest close to each other. I pay my respects to both fine officers.
