Lawrence Sills was my Great Uncle. My Maternal Grandfather's brother. He died 16 years before I was born. I've been reading my Great Grandmother's journals and learned what a great husband and father he was in addition to being a brave man of service ❤️

To fully appreciate the heroes of the present, we must recognize our heroes of the past. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 67th anniversary year of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace

Its sad that so few people have left a reflection for you Officer Sills. But having grown up in Woodland I never knew WPD had ever lost an officer in the line of duty. You wouldn't recognize your city anymore. Thank you for your service and sacrifice.
