My father, Sgt. E.C. Duncan was one of Officer Sides instructors at the Police Academy. I remember how upset he was when Officer Sides was murdered even though I was only 5 at the time.

Officer Sides and my Grandfather were classmates in the academy. I am proud to say my Grandfather was the first Jonny Sides Rookie of the year. The award to this day is still in honor of Officer Sides. I am proud to now be a member of the same department.
