I am Patrolman Shea's grandson and I believe the credit for the discovery and recognition of my grandfather should go to the Department historian Department member Anthony Greigo. His selfless, thorough investigative efforts helped bring closure to an incident that mystified our family for many years.

Noone from that era is still alive in my family...Patrick was my great grandfather he was struck and killed in the area of the Kimberly Ave Bridge leaving 3 young children. His death was overlooked by NHPD (inadvertantly of course) until 1988-89 when then Chief Farrell and Commissioner Celentano had an appropriate cermemony for him at 1 Union Ave...During a brutal snow storm. Was done very nicely

The details of your sacrifice are unknown to us. What is known is that you died in the line of duty. For that you will be remembered always as a hero.
