I am travelling in the US with my family on a 6 week holiday. We stopped off for one night in Chicago and walked around this fantastic city. It was then that I remembered my grandfather telling me about his uncle who had left Ireland and become a Chicago Police Officer, and that he was shot and killed while on duty. My son, Archie O'Shaughnessy, found his name on this site and I felt bound to leave a message. God rest his soul.

He was my great great uncle.

Time may have passed but you are not forgotten. I believe as long as someone remembers you or speaks your name, you are still with us.
Thank you for your heroism.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the one hundred and eighth anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.

Rest In Peace

It has been 111 years since your ultimate sacrifice but that does not matter because the CPD will not forget this sacrifice. Thank you for your service.
