Reflections for Sergeant James L. Severin
Uncle Jim, We're all going down to the Chicago Police Memorial Dedication on Sept. 18, 2006. Your name is down there and we will be present to honor you. Funny, after all these years we just can't let go....your death shook this family. The killers have suffered because of that and strongly feel the wrath of the Severin Family. Another parole hearing will be in the spring of 2007. As one of our family traditions, we are ready to fight. All your nieces and nephews will be there, side by side....we keep your honor by keeping both of them in prison.

You and Officer Rizzato will never be forgotten for the sacrifice you both made that day. My prayers are with your relatives as they continue to keep the animals that tore apart your families in jail.

Well Jim as the anniversary of that fateful night draws near, I remember so well running into you in the old 18th District parking lot. You were coming in and I was leaving.
We spoke too briefly and didn't have time to go for coffee.
I never saw you again. I always have time for coffee NOW.
I knew you for so many years from the time you were a young detective in Area 5 and I was the typist. Miss you. I also miss your brother Bill who tirelessly kept the snipers from ever being paroled. I miss him too. Know that those here will keep up the good fight. Rest in peace.

Hey Uncle Jim, We are coming up on the 36th anniversary of your murder. I wanted you to know that even with Dad's, (your brother's), death, all of us kids are still lined up for the continued fight to oppose parole for your killers. With Dad's passing we have truly has passed the torch of your memory to the second generation, my generation. We will never forget you, we will always honor you...may you continue to rest in peace, please give my Dad a hug and tell him that he is missed terribly. Love Jeannne
