Marshal Schultz,
Your serive might have been brief but your work and sacrifices last forever. Things may have changed since 1895 but our mission hasn't. You gave your all and you were loved by your community. I can only hope that you and Patrick were reunited in heaven, along with your wives.
You established the standards to live by, judging by the news article. Walking where you and Patrick have walked, makes me proud of where I live and work.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 114th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
