Reflections for Detective George P. Schneider
I have heard this man's name called dozens of times at the graduation of new Denver Police Officers. The names of all DPD fallen are called out by the recruit officers just prior to graduation as a reminder of the dangers of their new profession and of the sacrifice of those who have gone before them.
Condolences to the family of Detective John Dea, an American hero.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 79th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
Time never dimishes respect.and your memory will always be honored and revered.

Detective Schneider - Three Fridays ago, on a very rainy morning, I stood in the State Assembly chambers when your name was one of almost 250 read off during a motion regarding next month's Peace Officers Memorial Week. You are not forgotten.
Thank you for your service to the people of the City of Denver and the State of Colorado.
May God grant you eternal rest and may His perpetual light shine upon you.
