On today, the 70th anniversary of your death I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for the citizens of Detroit. And to your Family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.

I first learned of Erwin W. Schink when I saw his name on the Wayne County First Responders Memorial in Hines Park. Don't know why I remembered his name, but glad I did.
He's been in God's hands for 62 years, he is still remembered.

I am the grand daughter of Erwin Schink. My mother, Cathy, adored her father and has never quite gotten over his passing. He has been missed dearly. I would love to learn more about this great man, my grand father.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 58th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was murdered on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
Time never diminishes respect and your memory will always be honored and revered.

My father, Arthur LaVigne, served on the Detroit P.D. from 1954-1960 so he may have known you. He then went on to retire from the Flint P.D. in 1987. May God bless your family and may you rest in peace.
