For many years I had the solemn duty of memorializing Officer Schenning’s line of duty death at ceremonies during police week. On this, the 84th anniversary of his death, I salute him for his service, bravery, and ultimate sacrifice.

Hello Grandfather. We never met. My mom is your daughter Romayne. She did a good job of raising me and my siblings. She talked about you often and so you are part of my memories. I look forward to meeting you in heaven someday.
