Reflections for Special Deputy Sheriff Frank Rossi

Thank you for your service. Growing up I always admired you. The first time I visited the peace officer memorial I found your name as though I knew exactly where to look in the massive list. I've always felt very connected to you. And (as though through coincidence) I unknowingly met and fell in love with the great grandson of your friend, the man who tried to save you from bleeding out. My fiancé's grandmother said you were a smart, respectable man, and very kind. She said you did not deserve to die like that.

The did not mention his wife was with child at the time. Just know one thing your three children are good people and your oldest son Andrew raised his kids with your memory.

Deputy Sheriff Rossi,
On today, the 72nd anniversary of your murder, I would like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for the citizens of Duval County. I think it was a travesty of justice that your murderers spent so little time in prison.

This distinguished and well remembered man was my great grandfather.Although i was never able to meet him the deeds that he acomplished throughout his short lived life instilled a great respect for him in me.I believe that the punishment for his murderers was comepletely unjust, but of course this was a different time.I am honored to know that my grandfather is being respectfully remebered in a website such as this.Thank you, Ashley Rossi.
