I did not know Officer Tom Roland, but he served the same community that I now serve. He made the ultimate sacrifice for me and my community. He will always be remembered.

To fully appreciate the heroes of the present, we must recognize our heroes of the past. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 53rd anniversary year of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.
I pray for solace for all those that love and remember you for I know both the pain and pride are forever. Your family is in my heart's embrace. Rest In Peace.

It was 46 years ago today that Patrolman Tom Roland made the ultimate sacrifice for his community. He is not forgotten. I did not know Patrolman Roland but it doesn't matter. He was a brother under the badge.
May God continue to pour out His blessings upon the men and women of the Bowie Police Department and keep them safe from harm.
