Your heroism and service is honored today, the seventy-first anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.

I look at your photograph and do not see a man who died 67 years ago. I see a man who could easily walk into my station as an officer today. Amazing how some styles return erasing all track of time. But the memory of your heroism and sacrifice lives on forever in the hearts of those who knew you and the hearts of those who were denied the honor.
