Reflections for Officer Thomas A. Robinson, Jr.
Rest in peace Officer Robinson.

I grew up on those same streets where you lost your life. I was born and raised within 5 miles from Normandy Blvd. / Cassat Ave. I went on to become a police officer with the same agency and have spent many years patrolling those very same streets.
The danger never goes away. Many would say it was more dangerous then than now. Your name is called out every year at the Police Memorial day celebration on the front steps of the Police Memorial Building in downtown Jacksonville.
You will never be forgotten and your name has been enshrined as a part of the legacy of the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 58th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
