I was an officer in Irvington,NJ from 1967-1969 and remember the day I came to work for my 1330-2230 hours shift. The lineup was quiet as we were told how Otto had been shot while trying to arrest a suspect near the Newark/Irvington line. We were shown his leather jacket and the holes made by the rounds that caused Otto's wounds which proved to be fatal. All of the officers as well as I left for our tour of duty heavy hearted with a real awareness of how life can change in an instant. Otto was a good officer and his bravery as told by witnesses deserves recognition. God bless you and RIP.
