Reflections for Private Ernest Lee Ripley
Private Ripley,
On this the 100th anniversary of the end of your watch, I want you to know you're not forgotten. The tears that fill my eyes are genuine. I'm so grateful for your courage, for the tremendous price you paid in service to our great State of West Virginia.

I found the Officer Down Memorial Page while visiting the
West Virginia State Police website. The Hall of Honor link caught my attention and I felt compelled to view each EOW report. I pray this moment that they are honored in Heaven as guardians of society. I weep for Private Charles Kackley and each of the fallen officers. I pray this moment for their families. I pray this moment to God above for the safety of all that serve this Thanksgiving Day 2018 and ever more.

My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer
