To fully appreciate the heroes of the present, we must recognize our heroes of the past. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 53rd anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace.

Joe Reynolds was my grand father. He was killed before I was born(1962). My grand mother often spoke of him. She never remarried. I truly believe I missed out on knowing a wonderful man. PSO CW Edwards told me of some one who is interested in a picture of my grand father. Please contact me and I will make arrangements for a photo. I'm in the phone book.

Yesterday, a friend of mine told me that her grandfather had been an APD officer and had been shot and killed in the line of duty in 1959, before she was born. She showed me a newspaper article about the incident, and it had pictures of the three officers involved in the incident. Coincidentally, yesterday I had stopped a traffic violator who mentioned that his father had been an Augusta officer years ago, and the pictures of the officers from that article included the violator's father who looked nearly identical. Sir, thank you for your dedicated service and courage! You made the supreme sacrifice in an attempt to protect the killer's family. Your granddaughter is very proud of you!
