Grandpa, I am sorry you left us so early. I was only 3 when you were killed and have no memories of you, just pictures. However, I understand from family that you spent a lot of time with me and I know we would have been close if you had lived longer.

I remember this well as I was staying with Mr. Registers brother Sesh and my Aunt Cordie on their farm at time of this Tragedy. I was thirteen....We attended his service at someone's house which I can't recall and I met his 3 sons who after 51 years I can't recall names....I just remember their faces....it was such a sad and solemn occasion. I just wanted to add this post to give my heartfelt condolences to Officer Register and his family...and to let them know that he will never be forgotten....not in my world....

To fully appreciate the heroes of the present, we must recognize our heroes of the past. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 48th anniversary year of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace

Thanks to your daughter for sharing her devotion to you through her reflections. I pray for solace for all those that love and remember you for I know both the pain and pride are forever.
