Reflections for Police Officer Francis Melvin "Jack" Rea

Officer Rea,
On today, the 70th anniversary of your death I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for the citizens of North Sacramento. And to your Family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.

This most recent loss of a policewoman brings back your memory and monument in the same neighborhood. You were our favorite patrolman when I was 15 and lived on Redwood. Your loss was deeply felt and remembered throughout the ensuing years!

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 58th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect, not even 58 years. I hope one day to meet some of your family members at a NORCAL Cops function.

Rest In Peace

Mom of fallen California Officer Larry Lasater, Pittsburg PD, eow 4/24/05

Back then it was North Sacramento. It was a city from its incorporation in 1924 until it was merged by mutual agreement in 1964 between its government and that of Sacramento.

No fellow California law enforcement personnel killed in the line-of-duty, should be forgotten.

Officer Rea, may Your Soul Rest-In-Peace.
