My thoughts are with your loved ones today on this 34th anniversary of your end of watch. I remember that night like it was yesterday as I was just a rookie and was working the midnight shift after your disappearance. Funny how I would meet and becomes friends with your parents years later after I also lost my son in the line of duty. Keep watch over your loved ones and those still out on patrol. You are a true hero and heroes never die. You will never be forgotten.

I grew up in Berkeley and am now living in MI. I attend the National Police Week ceremony every year and always leave something at your place on the wall. I will never forget how your tragedy changed our wonderful area Hillside/Berkeley. I lost a friend/co-worker who was shot in the line of duty and your etching is on my office wall next to his. Your story will never be forgotten, and your memory lives on. God bless you for keeping us safe so very long ago.

Even after almost 34 years, you have not been forgotten. Your sister and parents keep your memory alive every day. I have met them at different functions, they are so proud of you and are doing everything they can to keep the individual in prison that caused all the pain and suffering in your family. You are a true hero and heroes never die. Keep watch over your family and those still out on patrol.
