Robert was the first husband of my great grandmother, Ada Hale. Until I did a newspaper search for him, the only information we had was that he was a dental student. She had come from England to visit family, fell in love with Bob, married and never returned. They had a very young daughter, my half great Aunt Irene. He made the ultimate sacrifice for the citizens of Atlanta. I am proud to have him as a step-great grandfather.

Thank you so much for posting this. He is my Great Grandfather. His orphaned daughter, Irene, became my grandmother when she grew up and married Frank Jeter, my Grandfather.
It means a lot to me to have found this entry on your Wall of the Fallen. I am also so pleased to see the image of him.
I am glad he fought back so bravely. Although it bothers me greatly that there was no justice in this case.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the one hundred and thirteenth anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.
Rest In Peace.

Brother Albert,
May the road rise up to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back,
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
And the rains fall soft upon your fields,
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.
Respectfully,
You’re Brothers in Blue
