Reflections for Trooper George Tillman Radford
You won't be forgotten by your Brothers and family for your sacrifice and service to your state. It's sad that the people you served could not do the same for you.

I was in patrol school when this occurred. I’ll never forget Col Lanier telling us. It made me a better trooper for sure.

It seems impossible that today is the 30th anniversary of my husband's ultimate sacrifice. The years have flown by but the memories will be etched in my heart forever. Feeling sad today but also feeling proud and blessed to have shared a portion of my Life with such an honorable, patriotic, and Christian man
My husband was SC State Trooper George T. Radford. He was shot and killed in the line of duty on October 29, 1988. Paula Radford

George I'll never forget the great times you and I had when we worked together. You were a great friend and I hurt so bad when you were killed, I couldnt get home to pay my respect to you and your family. I always think about you, me and Howard Hayes when we were on the wolf pack. The good times we had working together. You were a great person and didn't deserve what happen to you. I'll see you again one day my brother. RIP

Family and Friends of Trooper Radford,
I never knew Trooper Radford, however he became an inspiration in my career as a police officer. In New Jersey his picture sits above my desk as a reminder of his sacrifice. I encountered the person responsible for his death in 2001 in NJ. I learned of your heart breaking journey for justice upon follow up pertaining to our case. It has stayed with me for many years and it keeps me sharp. Ironically on October 29, 2003 I had a car stop encountering a driver armed with an AK-47. All of my decisions got me through the incident unharmed and with the arrest of the driver. I believe someone was looking out for me that night. I will always keep Trooper Radford’s picture above my desk and thank him. My prayers are with you all however sadden by your loss of a great man.

I often still think of George I was working 3rd shift in darling ton with him that week and we had met a few nights earlier and eaten together I recall the dispatcher calling his patrol number over and over again as other troopers hit the road to search for him, during the early morning hours.after being shot several times while in Vietnam serving our country and surviving it was tragic he lost his life in the manner in which it was taken..For his family to endure 5 trials and guilty verdicts is a testament to their courage as well and to finally be found not guilty after wards due mainly to witnesses passing away is a testament to our incredibly insane judicial system.God however knows the truth and one day George's murderer will face judgement for his crime

George,
Not a month goes by that I don't thimk of you and especially May 16. You were a fine person and a good example for any one to follow. We had a lot of good memories in our youth and I know God is watching over you Gene, Uncle Chuck, and aunt Abbey. You are missed even in Illinois.

I'm so blessed to be the wife of Trooper George Radford who was not only a dedicated SC State Trooper, but even more so was a dedicated Christian man who loved his God, Family, and Country and was proud to have served in the military and law enforcement. THANK YOU to each and every person who took the time and cared enough to leave a comment about my hubby. Your comments truly touched my heart knowing that his sacrifice will never be forgotten. God bless you all.

Trooper George Tillman Radford lived a few blocks from my parent's house in Dillon, we lived on Jackson Street. One night, Trooper Radford had stopped my dad just a few blocks from our house after my dad had drank a few beers. I will never forget the story my dad told me about that night, Trooper Radford had said to him "I'm not in the habit of locking up his neighbors and followed him home. I have never forgot that story and I will never ever forget Trooper Radford. Way to go Cassie Radford !! I know he's very proud of you. God Bless You.

Im lost in thought. Today marks 11 years that your killer walked a free man. I polished my badge just a little longer this morning and though your killer and I share the same freedom I will never give up the fight!!!! I'
m not his maker nor his judge however I am a reflection of you!!!! The manner in which I perform my law enforcement duties and the content of my character is the torch that will burn in your honor every day until I take my last breath. Thank You for loving and watching over me from above.

George and I played football together for the '64 Green Gremlins. He was a great friend to me. I had no idea, at that time, that George would become a hero to me one day. George, you were a great friend, a great Law Officer, Father and yes, you are now my hero. I will always remember you and will always cherish the fact that you were my friend.
