Reflections for Police Officer Peter Mayo Price

A Sunshine State hero. Rest in peace Officer Price. No matter the cause of death, a line of duty passing is cause for humble and heroic salute of arms.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 42nd anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never dimishes respect, not even 42 years.

Rest In Peace

Though I never knew him, I will mourn this deep loss the rest of my life -- along with the loss of all my fellow brothers & sisters. I worked at Clearwater Police, both as a telecommunicator & an officer, for over 17 years and am still in law enforcement today. Officers world-wide are so dear to my heart. May God go with them all and, if He calls them home, may their friends and loved ones rest in the peace and comfort that only He can give. They will never be forgotten and may God richly bless those that continue the fight for them.

On February 12, 1969, 27-year-old Clearwater Police Officer PETER MAYO PRICE died in the line of duty. A U.S. Army veteran and a Clearwater Police Officer since October 1965, Patrolman Price was a motorcycle officer at the time of his death. At 1:35 p.m. on that February day - while responding Code 3 to an emergency call - Patrolman Price was seriously injured when a car turned into his path, and the motorcycle and car collided. Patrolman Price died of his injuries less than an hour later.

Patrolman Price was one of four Clearwater Police Officers who have died in the line of duty over the years, each of whom died in traffic-related incidents. Please hold a good thought for Officer Peter Price today, as we mark the 36th anniversary of his death. RIP Brother
