Reflections for Trooper Delano G. Powell

I just saw the sign at the Oldham County line indicating it was a memorial highway in this troopers memory

I had not known about his sacrifice but will remember him every time I drive that road.

To fully appreciate the heroes of the present, we must recognize our heroes of the past. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 48th anniversary year of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace

mom of fallen Pittsburg (CA) Officer Larry Lasater

TrooperPowell, You were too young to die. Too young to leave your young wife and child. 40 years. You would be 68 now. I hope your Son grew up to know that his father IS a TRUE hero. God Bless.
