I was Pat’s sergeant for three years at District 2 until I was transferred, six months before his death. I took Pat’s death very hard and I still think about him often.

Patrick, I will always remember the good times we had in the academy, and the get-togethers at Fagan's, after class. You are always in my prayer's, and sadly missed.

Rest in peace my brother.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 25th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

I pray for solace for all those who love and miss you for I know both the pain and pride are forever.
Rest In Peace.

I was in the academy when Officer Pollack was killed. I vividly remember all of the news articles and, even though I didn't know him, how his dedication to duty that day inspired me in my work for the next twenty years. Sadly, all of us who dedicate our lives to law enforcement will at sometime have the same remembrances of another officer, and a more personal involvement with him or her, who has made the same sacrifice.

Sorry for the loss of your dear friend Greg.

In 1985 Pat was the "matchmaker" for Joanne and I and in 1989 when we married I wished he could have been my Best Man! But instead the nephew he never met, is name sake Patrick was our ring bearer and his brother Mike was the pastor that married us. I think about him all the time and wonder what could have been. Even today, 25 years later I type with tears in my eyes. Pat, great friend, great partner and a great Christian man to give his life in the line of duty!!
God Bless You, rest in peace

Patrick:

My husband, Patrick, was in District 2 with you, when I met you in 1982. You were such a wonderful man. The Choir Practices were great :)

When I received news of your passing, I was devastated.

My Patrick has now joined you in Heaven. His last day of watch was Feb. 8, 2010. He was working in the property bureau, when he went down and died a few hours later at DGH.

I'll bet you two are having a heck of a time in Heaven together. I miss both of you with all my heart. Your name is still, to this day, spoken with great honor and pride. I can look across the cemetery, from Patrick's grave and see where you are laid to rest.

Like my husband, you are a legacy in the Denver Police Department. I never imagined, until today at Police Headquarters, that the two of you would be named at the same memorial. It was heartbreaking for me.

May you both Rest in Peace my dear friend.

With Love, Annmarie J. Anderson

Officer Pollock - Four Fridays ago, I stood in the State Assembly chambers when you name was one of almost 250 read off during a motion regarding this month's Peace Officer Memorial Week - you are not forgotten.

Thank you for your service to the people of the City of Denver and the State of Colorado. May God grant you eternal rest and may His perpetual light shine upon you.

The Badge"
He starts his shift each day
To respond to calls unknown.
He drives a marked patrol car.
A police officer he is known.
He's paid by the citizens' taxes
To make it safe on the streets.
But he usually has a second job
'Cause a waitress has his salary beat.
Now he doesn't know a holiday
'Cause he works all year round.
And when Thanksgiving and Christmas finally arrive
At his home he cannot be found.
He's cursed and assaulted often,
The one whos blood runs blue.
He seldom ever gets a thanks,
To some he's just a fool.
His friends are always other cops
'Cause people just don't understand
That underneath his badge and gun,
He's just another man.
He knows there might not be a tomorrow
In this world of drugs and crime.
And he gets so mad at the court system
'Cause the crooks don't get any time.
And each day when he leaves for work,
He prays to God above.
Please bring me home after my shift
So I can see the ones I love.
But tonight he stops a speeding car,
He's alone down this ole' highway.
It's just a little traffic infraction.
He does it everyday.
Well, he walks up to the driver's window,
And his badge is shining bright.
He asked the guy for a driver's license,
When a shot rang through the night.
Yes, the bullet hit its mark,
Striking the officer in the chest.
But the Department's budget didn't buy
Each officer a bullet-proof vest.
So he lay on the ground bleeding.
His blood wasn't blue - His blood was red.
And briefly he thought of his loved ones
'Cause in a moment the officer was dead.
In the news they told the story
Of how this officer had died.
And some who listened cared less,
But those who loved him cried.
Well, they buried him in uniform
With his badge pinned on his chest.
He even had his revolver,
He died doing his best.

I'm proud to say that Pat was my friend; more than that, he was like family. Pat always had a way of making you feel special.

It's hard to believe that 20 years have passed and I know there will never be another Pat Pollock. Never will I meet a kinder, more gentle soul. Pat, you were truly an angel on earth and I am very blessed to have been able to spend some time with you during your short time here. I love you, Pat, and I will never forget you. Rest in peace.

Officer Pollock, I was on duty recently when your EOW announcement came over the airwaves on the DG & DPD channels and I said a prayer. As I sat awaiting a cover car I looked up and knew that you were in a better place. I did have a feeling of comfort knowing that if I should have needed to press the orange button on my radio...you would have been there!RIP Sir....Paramedic Ralph Montoya
