Reflections for Deputy Sheriff Cleo Platt
Grandpa, although we never met, your oldest daughter turned out to be my mom. I always Looked up to police officers as I grew up But never understood why mom did not want me to become a police officer.
Once I found out about you, I understood her concern. I thought about you in every law enforcement job I ever had and knew that I always had to go home safe.
After nearly thirty nine years as a police officer, I finally got to retire and be with my wife. By the way, she raised three wonderful children who turned out to be appreciative of a man who gave his life to being a public servant, just like you! I love you.
