Reflections for Police Officer Stanley "Tex" Pitakos
To fully appreciate the heroes of the present, we must recognize our heroes of the past. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 55th anniversary year of your death. I am privilege to leave a tribute to you. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service.
My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace.

You were my Uncle Tex, but I was only 8-years old when you were shot. Oddly enough, when I returned from Vietnam, where I was an Investigator in the Army CID, I too worked as a Police Officer for about ten years, in Washington, DC and Tampa, FL. I have never known if your death prompted me to go into Law Enforcement. Anyway, thank you for the excitement you brought me as a child, when we saw you in the Patrol car, in Newport. It was always a thrill, "You were my Uncle."
