This was my grandpa whom unfortunately, was taken way too soon. I remember him through stories I've heard over the years. His murder impacted my family in ways that I would not wish anyone to experience.
I still think of him today and wish I would have been able to grow up knowing him.

To fully appreciate the heroes of the present, we must recognize our heroes of the past. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 49th anniversary year of your death.
Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.
It is disgraceful that your murderer served only 11 years in prison before being paroled.
Rest In Peace.

On the 44th anniversary of Marshal Addison's death, we honored his service in our patrol briefing by reading his entry from ODMP. Each day, we honor one fallen officer on the anniversary of their death so as to keep them in our thoughts, and also to remind us of the dangers inherent in our job. Marshal Addison is not forgotten.
