Every year since 2009 I have made the blue ribbons with the 51 names of the Oakland Police Officers who have died in the line of duty. It is my honor to do this for the fallen officers. The ribbons hang on a tree outside the Warehouse Bar and Grill in Oakland, California for all to see the sacrifice they have made to keep us safe. God bless you all and rest in peace.

A grateful citizen

thank you to everyone that left all of those kind words.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 80th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. What tragedy your family endured to have your son grow up without knowing you. My cherished son was murdered 2 1/2 months before his son Cody was born, thus like your son, he will only know his father through pictures, remembrances, and stories. This is just one of the many reasons a site like this is so wonderful as it is a place family members can always visit and see their beloved is not forgotten.

Rest in Peace Motorman. You are not forgotten. How sad that you had to leave us without knowing your own child. God bless you and keep you.
