Reflections for Lieutenant Giuseppe "Joseph" Petrosino
Our deepest sympathy goes out to the family, friends and all the members of the New York City Police Department. We were made safer by his service and we all suffer their tragic loss. The family of Lieutenant Petrosino deserves our appreciation and gratitude for their sacrifice. No greater love has a man than the will to give his life for another. In the days to follow, may you be strengthened by the fact that Lieutenant Petrosino is a man distinguished by exceptional courage and will always be admired for his brave deeds and noble qualities. You, your family and your sacrifice will never be forgotten.

An amazing man, a great cop and I have heard many stories about him from my Grandmother. He was a relative of mine, on my Fathers side and I am truly honored to see his story being told...

Truly a dedicated officer, i pass his photo every day at work as it hangs on the 13th floor of 1PP. Not once did i know the story behind his legacy as i do now. God Bless You, Guiseppe Petrosino

As an Italian/American i respect a person like him. He did so much so long ago.I also wanted to say that there is a school in Astoria,NY named after him cause he is such a hero. Rest well my Brother.

i'm a pround italian american police officer and i'm proud of the legacy Lt joseph Petrosino.I had the opportunity to meet his wife a few years back,it was a great honor.Thers's a great movie on his life in the 1950's called to Pay or die.If anybody can find it really worth seeing.

I just got done watching a segment on the "History Channel" where they talked about Lt. Petrosino. All I can say is...What an officer. For one man to be able to pull of what he did speaks volume. Rest in Peace and We'll carry on from here.

This is not about how Lt. Petrosino died, but how he lived. For twenty years in the face of threats and actual attempts on his life, he stood and fought and actualy hurt one of the largest and most violent criminal organizations in history. In Texas we say no man in the right can stand against a man in the wrong, if the man in the right keeps on coming. Lt. Petrosino lived this.
