The proud men and women of the United States Park Police will never forget the ultimate sacrifice of Officer Michael Petrella and his surviving family. The selfless actions of our Fallen Heroes are the foundation of our core values (Integrity ~ Honor ~ Service). During Police Week, each year, we re-affirm and re-dedicate our commitment by honoring your service, your memory, and your sacrifice.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 47th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never dimishes respect. Your memory will always be remembered and revered.

Rest In Peace

The Petrella family thanks the "Law Enforcement Family" for all their support. Our father, and all other fallen officers, are heroes not because they died protecting us, but because they lived to protect us.
