Reflections for Patrolman Augustus J. Perreira, Jr.

Amazingly it's been 27 years since my brother was killed and it still sometimes seems like yesterday. I'll never forget the kindness that was shown to my family by the people of Colorado Springs and it warms my heart to know that he is still remembered there as well as here at home in NY. He was 28 when he died, and although young, he had an amazing life filled with a loving wife and extended family and a son who is now a father as well. His family and friends won't forget him and pages like this assure that his memory and sacrifice won't either. Thank you. Every comment is appreciated.

God bless this officer. I was a cadet at the U.S. Air Force Academy when this incident happened. I remember how it touched the community. According to newspaper account this officer was a fine individual. You are not forgotten. You paid the ultimate price. Thank you.
