Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Policeman David F. Perez-Valentin

My dear unforgettable brother, after 30 something years of you leaving us I still miss you, I still feel the necessity to hug you , to sit down and talk like so many times we did in my apartment in guaynabo, lay down in the floor and listen to oldies but goodies, no one will ever fill that space that you left in my heart. Until we see each other again .

Solo pasaba para recordarle en su aniversario de fallecimiento. No lo conocí pero estoy consiente de que cada hermano Policia caído en el cumplimiento de su deber debe ser siempre recordado. Descanse en Paz.

Officer Perez-Valentin,
Sir, even though it's been 32 years since your End of Watch you are still honored and remembered. I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice-not just for your Community but for our Country as well when you served in the USN. And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 29th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.

I pray for solace for all those that love and remember you for I know both the pain and pride are forever. Your family is my heart's embrace. Thanks to your family for sharing their memories and devotion to you through their reflections.

Rest In Peace.

Never knew the man, but have met his two sons which are a reflection of the qualities that I'm sure he had. Another shipmate standing watch from Above.

What a legacy was left behind by this incredible man! Your children honor your memory and are a blessing to our family. Not only have they grown into amazing people, but they are amazing children and love and honor their mother. You would certainly have been proud of all three.

Dad,
Here I am 29 years later reflecting on your short 32 years on earth. While it saddens me that you are gone, I am happy that your memory has always been kept alive through your family, especially Mom. She honored you, and raised us with the values you so strongly believed in. Frances and Jimmy are living honorable lives and raising beautiful children—you would be happy to see your three great grandchildren too. I am married and have six wonderful children, and I always talk to them about you and what you stood for. I learned a lot from you and will always strive to be at least half the man you were. Love you, David
