To fully appreciate the heroes of the present, we must recognize our heroes of the past. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 62nd anniversary year of your death.
Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.
Rest In Peace

I never met my grandfather Sergeant Harry Adams, but I did hear many stories about him from my mom (who was 15 when her father was killed). She told of him working long hours, being firm but fair, and being respected as an officer that didn't discriminate based on race. He sounded like a decent guy. I'm pretty sure my 3 year old son has his ears.

I said a little prayer today for Sergeant Adams and his family. He may be gone but never forgotten. He will always be a New York HERO.

Recently, on my first trip to the Memorial Wall in Washington, DC, my mother indicated that she knew a member of the New York State Police who had been killed directing traffic at an accident. She said one of her uncles was friends with Sgt. Harry Adams. We looked you up Sarge and found you on the East Wall. I sketched your name on a piece of paper for her and she was moved. Rest in peace Sarge, we have the watch.
